2 Corinthians 1:4-5 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
We learn how to comfort others by emulating how God comforts us when we are going through troubles.
Trials are the very things that that help us become who the Lord wants us to become.
"...make use of adversity. Our trials help us discover and prepare for the work Heavenly Father has for us. Alma explained, 'after much tribulation, the Lord make me an instrument in his hands'. Our Savior wants us to become something, not just do something. " D. Todd Chirstofferson
