"If we are one in purpose, spirit, principle and faith, then it doesn't really matter if we are always of the same opinion. Opinions change and can be easily altered by time, experience, and circumstance. But principles, purposes, spirituality and faith are enduring values that can bind us as one despite disagreement or dispute." - M. Russell Ballard
"Interestingly, Paul is exhorting us to press forward while calling us to forget that which is behind- our past fears, our past focus, our past failure, our past sadness. He is inviting us, just like our dear prophet, President Russell M. Nelson, to "a newer holier approach.' The Savior's promise is real: "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it." -Edward Dube
"Each one of us has been given power to change his or her life. As part of the Lord's great plan of happiness, we have individual agency to make decisions. We can decide to do better and to be better. In some ways all of us need to change. Sure conversion changes lives...The power of the gospel can indeed change lives and take us from sadness and despair to happiness and joy. Let us remember that the power to change is very real, and it is a great spiritual gift from God." -James E. Faust
What is the gospel of Jesus Christ? "The gospel consists of the laws, ordained by God the Father, whereby progression and advancement come. Accordingly, every good thing in time and eternity grows out of and flows from the gospel. There is no blessing, no knowledge, no power, might or dominos, no grace or good thing that will or can be withheld from those who live the gospel. Temporarily God's saints may lack health or wealth or power or influence or many desirable things, but eventually all things shall be theirs, for they are Christ's and Christ is God's" -Bruce R. McConkie
"We can learn the mind and the will of the Lord in the general sense of obedience to the basic laws of universal application. But we can only know the Lord's will where are specific and personal affairs are concerned by personal revelation. Hence, when we conform to the divine will calling of baptism and admission to the kingdom of God on earth, we then receive the gift of the Holy Ghost and are entitled to continuing revelation. Then we can be filled with the knowledge of God's will concerning our personal affairs." -Elder McConkie
"Men receive all they need for salvation through Christ and his gospel. They need not add thereto the learning of the world, the philosophies of men, or the so-called wisdom of the ages. Salvation is in Christ and His gospel. However beneficial it may be to be learned int he things of the worlds, still spiritual blessings come though revealed knowledge. The knowledge that saves is the knowledge of God." -Bruce R. McConkie
This is written 60 years after Christ's death.
They needed to learn to switch from worshiping a physical object they could see to worshiping a God they couldn't see.
It is especially sweet when you aren't able to perform your duty or responsibilities and someone steps in to help you do your "job".
Elder Uchdorf "Endings are not our destiny."
When obedience becomes a quest, we are endowed with power.
