Don't use new weapons you've never used once the actual battle comes. Use what you've trained with. Keep covenants and be steadfast and immovable before the battles then use those same weapons during the conflict. What weapons can we train with to fight against the adversary? Seek the best spiritual gifts.

Weakness becoming Strength through the Lord

 After watching a YouTube interviewing Steven Harper, I remind myself to repent relentlessly. 

D&C 124:1 Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you, my servant Joseph Smith, I am well pleased with your offering and acknowledgments, which you have made; for unto this end have I raised you up, that I might show forth my wisdom through the weak things of the earth." I love that the Lord tells him he is weak. Not meant to be a put down, simply something they both knew. As President Nelson says, "The Lord Uses the Unlikely to Accomplish the Impossible". Beautiful message.

Holy Ghost

"I have learned that strong, impressive, spiritual experiences do not come to us very frequently. Most typically we receive a series of seemingly small and incremental spiritual impressions and nudges, which in totality constitute the desired confirmation about the correctness of the path which we are pursuing. Remember, Nephi tried several different approaches before he was able to successfully obtain the plates of brass from Laban. And eh didn't not learn how to build a ship of curious workmanship all at one time; rather, he was shown by the Lord "from time to time after what manner he should work the timbers of the ship" (1 Nephi 18:1)

Each of us must also appreciate the roles of faithfulness and diligence and obedience in the Lord's pattern for receiving help from heaven. Please turn with me to 2 Nephi 28:30. "For behold thus saith the Lord God; I will give unto the children of men line up on line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him that receiveth I will give more;

That is, as we mature spiritually, we begin to develop sound judgement, a reined and educated conscience, and a heart and mind filled with wisdom. It is not just act we have grown older, now have we simply become smarter and had more experiences on which to draw, as important as those experiences are. Rather, the Holy Ghost has over time been expanding our intellect, forming our feelings, sharpening and elevating our perspective, such that we increasingly think and feel and act as the Lord would under such circumstances. In short, we have made steady profess in obtaining "the mind of Christ" (1 Corinthians 2:16)
